CAD stands for Computer aided drafting. Previously all engineering drawings were drawn by hand. This took a lot of time and effort to draw an engineering drawing. Also in these drawings there were a lot of chances of errors like, the measurement isn’t proper (as in engineering drawing very small measurements like 0.5 or 0.1mm are used.) or the lines are not perfectly parallel or human errors. So in order to ease the drawing process and reduce errors the Computer aided drafting was introduced. Due to these softwares drawing complex drawings with utmost accuracy was possible.
